This model is distinct enough that the ovelap would not be a problem. As for quality, that's not really a genuine concern. Although I'm biased, most of the excellent open source projects I use come from, or came from, jakarta. I'm sure Jibx could be pomoted to an apache project in no time. I don't have any say so in these matters, but I like jibx and would like a better forum in which to contribute.
Needless to say, but you depend on BCEL, a jakarta project!
