All I'm saying is that in your code, the only place you use rpy2_R6 is here:
https://github.com/rpy2/rpy2-arrow/blob/main/rpy2_arrow/sexpextptr.py#L29, and
you don't need to because you aren't doing anything specifically with R6.
Indeed, you do the same operation on L35 without using rpy2_R6.utils.
I have no opinion about what libraries users of this API in pyarrow should use,
I'm just saying that this adapter code doesn't need it.
