Review Comment:
   KAFKA-16454 was filed to snapshot the __remote_log_metadata topic for faster 
restarts, so the `syncLogMetadataSnapshot` and 
`RemoteLogSegmentMetadataSnapshot.java` was not removed.

   The unused `syncLogMetadataSnapshot` method can be removed.
