Not sure if I fully understand. I am aware of one restore bug in 2.7.0 with
regard to "global state stores" that leads to an infinite loop (it's fixed for
2.7.2, 2.8.1 and 3.0.0: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-12951) –
are you using a global state store?
Would to good to understand if you hit K12951 or something else – also, if you
say you think it's fixed in 2.7.1, can you point to the corresponding ticket?
