I just got my beta SBReceiver ("duet") hardware today and I've set it
up. You'll be pleased to know that I managed to fumble my way through
it without reading any documentation (which was absent from the box) or
directions from the forum here. So, good job, you guys, in making the
setup pretty intuitive, at least for this geek.
Just a couple of things gave me pause: I didn't manage to find anyway
to set the Receiver up with a static IP. Is that by design? Or did I
just fail to look hard enough? Also, another thing that gave me pause
is the amber LED on the Ethernet jack. On my setup, it's on
constantly. I usually associate that with ethernet collisions. Is
that what it's supposed to be indicating?
Also, also, I'm noticing that with the new web default UI, the
Settings->Players->Receiver->Basic Settings page is very minimal at
this point. What really seems to be missing is the "Play Other Songs
in Album" setting choice.
Also, also, also, clicking on the "forget this player" seems to put the
Receiver into a state where one needs to set it up again from scratch,
via the front button. It would be nice if the user got some warning
that such a drastic change was about to take place.
Anyway, I've got the Receiver connected to my DAC1 and it sounds great!
I haven't tried the analog outs yet.
