I've noticed that since a FW upgrade sometime last week r17xx, the wireless reception on Jive has become flakier.
The signal strength in my kitchen hovers around 50% according to the SB2 there, and Jive usually shows around 1 bar of signal strength when sitting in it's cradle there. But I've noticed that after a while Jive loses connection with the server and display the Blue Icon Of Death (BIOD). Also, once in this state (in general), Jive never attempts a re-connection to the server. So a reboot is required. I also get a BIOD if the server service is re-cycled to install a nightly. I'm guessing that the server should maintain a timestamp for when the process was started. Jive should pull down this timestamp. If a Jive/Server disconnect occurs and Jive then attempts a reconnect, then timestamps are compared. If server timestamp > Jive timestamp, then Jive knows that it needs to refresh all it's internal data structures from the server such as player count/playlists etc as something about the server may have changed. -- oreillymj ------------------------------------------------------------------------ oreillymj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=699 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43133 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jive
