I'm considering using the new controller as a sort of universal remote. I will have Girder or something equiviliant connected to the machine where I run SlimServer. The idea is to write some custom menus that will run on the controller and trigger actions ultimately via Girder or some other program - either controlling things on the Windows computer or blasting out IR commands. From what I read this should be possible with the new controller and plugin additions. Do I have this correct?
My goal is to have a Wifi-based univeral remote that controls a range of devices, where the remote itself is a "slim" device - that does not hold the programming logic. Looking around, I have not been able to find any remote that works this way, and the architecture of the Slim controller appears perfect.
