I've only been playing with the hardware for a couple of days, so
forgive me if I ask stupid questions that have been covered before a
million times

I have problems with the SBCs connecting, but I think the symptoms are
actually a demonstration of network problems. I've been through the
setup procedure umpteen times, and without fail, the SBR connects, and
can be controlled through the web interface, but the SBC will not
connect.

My suspicion is towards network issues and firewall problems because if
I connect the SBC/SBR to the SqueezeCenter on my laptop then it seems to
work flawlessly every time.

So, the two Squeezecenters:
o The Laptop is connected either by wire or wireless directly to my
WAP/Internet gateway. It's running Vista.
o The Media Center is connected by wire to a 24-port gig switch and
then to the same WAP/Internet Gateway. It's running XP Media Center.
I've opened ports 9090, 9000 and 3483 (tcp/udp) in the (Windows)
Firewall.
Both are running SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 17388 - Windows XP - EN -
cp1252, downloaded last night, and installed from the same .exe file.

My existing collection of SB2s are working fine with the Media Center,
as is the new SBR. It's just the SBCs that refuse to connect.

Thoughts anyone?
Thanks.
