I've done a bit of investigation now and it seems it is not just the battery cover that is broken but the back of the remote plastic casing too. I need a new remote (unless Logitech supplies just the casing... which seems unlikely).
It *is* impossible to find the backlit remote on the Logitech web site and, even though the SlimDevices web site directs a visitor to the Logitech web site for acessories and spares there are none to be found on the site. In addition, Logitech appear to have dumped the SlimDevices web site listings of *international* resellers (in an attempt to get anyone outside of the Canada dn the US to buy fromn them direct?).
