your confusion is justified, but just to clarify how the SBC (currently) works: If there is new firmware that we want to push out to users, you don't need to check for it--it will tell you there's new software within 12hrs of it being available. FYI, there should be an update to r2090, maybe this week, to address a memory leak in the artwork cache. Software updates to 7.0 will be few and far between, as most bug fixing is going into 7.0.1, which will be a point release coming in a month or so.
