/usr/sbin/crond doesn't seem to be running by default on the jive.  I do
see ether-wake, though.  Any idea how to get crond to run as a service
there?

But more to Gary's point:  a WOL "alarm" with a UI on the jive would
make it relatively easy to set a server wake-up for different times for
different days, much as the musical "alarm" function does in SC now. 
That would give you more flexibility than what is usually offered in
the rtc wakeup facility offered in many BIOSes (which is usually
limited to the same wake-up time every day).
