The full screen skin is an applet too, so I would (as a -user-), guess
that its resemblance to the default is just a first step, and that (as
Pfarrel would say) something prettier is just a small matter of
programing.

Program Files\SqueezePlay\lua\applets\FullscreenSkin is very well
commented, and there's a great applet tutorial here* Andrew. Those and
a book on LUA should do the trick :-)
