Sorry guys, but I am going to be unavailable until the
end of February. I will be out of town starting next
week and I will not be able to check email very often.
Unfortunately, I was unable to complete the user guide
documentation. The latest version is already checked
into CVS.
I was the acting Release Manager, so we need to vote
on a replacement for me. Does anyone (must be a
committer) want to volunteer? If not, I will nominate
someone.
Here's a list of tasks that somebody needs to do:
1. Update the index file which contains a table of
contents. I thought about removing the intro section.
It's up to you guys.
2. Create a new stylesheet or update the existing one.
The left-hand navigation needs to point to the new
user guide (new directory "usermanual"). Also, I
added a property to the "section" tag that should be
used to create a "intrapage" link (anchor). Right now,
the anchor is generated using the section name, which
can be very ugly. That's why I added another property
to "section". See one of the XML documentation files.
I already added the property to each section and
links.
3. The unfinished documentation already contains
"stubs". You can either complete the documentation, OR
simply copy the old documentation into the new file
with a disclaimer ("This document is for version 1.6
and maybe out-of-date.").
4. Build and release version 1.7!
I think that's all. I will be available for questions
