I was thinking in the same direction. We need to be careful: I'm already using the HTTP Proxy as a container to store the listener to record results, which does not quite match this idea... One step at a time, though :-)

Yes, that's it. Silly substring replacement. Then we can choose between REPLACE_ME_PLEASE or ${REPLACE_ME_PLEASE} for that substring, but that's mostly a cosmetics issue.


I've also considered the option of having some element define the variable, and the timer use it as a regular variable. But that would be difficult and I don't think it's worth the hassle.
