Could you create a Bugzilla enhancement request for this please?
That way it won't get forgotten.

Sebb,
It would be useful if the new FTP Request Sampler permitted
uploading the contents of an inline UI element (e.g., of a
JLabeledTextArea) as an alternative to uploading a file. (The
SOAP/XML-RPC Request sampler allows this, for instance.) For one
thing, this would enable variable substitution in the file being
uploaded.
I'll probably modify my JMeter to do this, but if you get a chance
to incorporate this into the official code it'd be appreciated. (If I
get a suitably working version, I can contribute a patch.)
