I experienced lockups that went away when I added more memory
to my PC. Though I now stand at 256 MB not the 1 GB you have.

JMeter was chewing through memory. Currently, running just
a single thread script I see the process "java.exe" taking 150,000 KB
and my PC is happy with that. I am getting no Windows popups telling
me to close applications because of virtual memory running low.

Do you see such popups?

I do have the JDK 1.4.2 or J2SE as they now seem to want to call
it, not the 1.4.1 you have. Perhaps you can upgrade that?

Subject: Lockup Problem

We're running Jmeter-1.9.1 and are experiencing complete system lockups on a
consistent basis. The system will not respond in any way and must be hard
rebooted. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

Here are the specs on our machines...

Dell Optiplex GX260
Windows XP
1GB of RAM
Sun JDK 1.4.1 (have tried other JDKs and had the same problem)
