Try it yourself. What is described below is NOT the actual action. Double the scale3d, and the scale does NOT reduce by 1/2. Perhaps a bug.
I really don't care about the exact size, but I DO care about being able to portray two molecules at the same scale. I wasn't aware Chime could do this. But I'm thrilled Jmol MIGHT be able to do it.

scale3d sets an absolute ratio of pixels/angstrom. To be chime-compatible, the ratio is set as angstroms/inch ... where Jmol assumes 72 pixels/inch.
If there was any value, I would be willing to get rid of the references to inch and change it to 100 pixels. Then we could stay in the metric system.
Then it would be setting angstroms/100 pixels
