Egon,
I may be interpreting the whole thing wrong, but I was under the impression that the JmolViewer is the only way I am supposed to get to any underlying data associated with the model, so get() methods would be needed.
How would you suggest I can get a hold of the atomic coordinates and all that in the Jmol application?

I am not comfortable introducing a large number of very specific methods
into the core of the Viewer.
I was wondering about the get() methods anyway... should those be part of a
Viewer... Miguel once told me that Jmol should only be a visualisation
tool... and that does not require get methods...
Should it not be such that the get stuff is in the class that wraps around (or
uses) the viewer?
