Most of the time I won't have problem with this way of working.
That's not perfect, but it will do.
If I understand correctly, the worst case is if I want to add texts myself
(a new page for example) : I will have to do the English version and then
wait for someone to update the POT file before being able to do the French
version.

I let you see what can be done with gettext and decide to use it or not ;)
