Category: Website Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Miguel (migueljmol) Summary: Javascript detection flawed. Initial Comment: I'm running Firefox 1.5 (contributed build) under OS/2 4.52+ (eCS 1.2). Java and javascript are enabled and work perfectly; in Tools|Options|Content, I have Java & javascript checked, and javascript permitted to do whatever it wants to its windows. The JMol website, however, reports that java &/or javascript is *not* enabled! The Browser Check at this site gives a report saying that "navigator.javaEnabled()" is false. However, Firefox does't *use* this variable to indicate that java or javascript are enabled -- the java-related pref settings is "javascript.enabled". I've added a "navigator.javaEnabled()" boolean variable to my pref.js, but it isn't recognized by the JMol site. What gives? (I haven't tried the same routine using Firefox 1.5 for WinXP, and if JMol relies on Windows executables for interprocess communication, etc., then I won't have those components.)
