The problem is that every time we do that to an established phrase we will
lose all current defiinitions --- unless we had a way to update the current
.po files so that
#: org/jmol/console/ScriptEditor.java:135
msgid "Top"
msgstr "Subir"
becomes
#: org/jmol/console/ScriptEditor.java:135
msgid "Top[as in \"go to the top\" - (translators: remove this bracketed
part]"
msgstr "Subir"
Note that we have
#: org/jmol/script/ScriptEvaluator.java:2791
msgid "bad [R,G,B] color"
msgstr "color [Rojo, Verde, Azul] incorrecto"
so I think:
1) We would have to make sure the phrase STARTS with "[" or ENDS with "]".
2) We would need to have a tool that would convert all the .po files if
someone adds a bracketed phrase to an already-present phrase.
One problem I see is that it would require "translation" of the English as
well.
Q: Are the .po files the source files of the translations? Or is there
another source somewhere?
