[Moving to Dev-list] Ok, here is my report on items that do not get translated in the pop-up menu
Tested on 14.0.10 2014-02-19 22:34 Jmol/Java and JSmol/Html5 The Jmol application has the whole popup menu in English, the top menubar menu in Spanish. On the language menu, Spanish is checked (but has no effect). I will investigate more on this issue, it has happened before with dev. versions. In parentheses, items that do get translated correctly: (File > Load) > Open local file (File > Load) > Open URL (File > Save) > Save as PNG/JMOL (File) > Export (submenus are fine) (File) > Capture and submenus -- I can do those, not yet translated in the PO because I did not know this business, but will add and submit later today (Select > Hetero) has double quotes in Spanish written as \" that seem to be conflicitve--see below (Select > Hetero) > All PDB "HETATM" does not get translated, seemingly due to quotes too (View) > Top --same problem (Color > Axes, Boundbox, Unit Cell) > there is onolive instead of Olive, so does not get translated --a source code problem in this case JavaScript Console --not localized (Set picking) > modelKitMode -- I wonder if this should or not be localized --it is not now (About > Jmol) > Jmol Script Commands --not localized The issue with quotes: - A few English terms (e.g. "Top" in View) have a bracketed explanation for translators that includes quotes, usually escaped as \". This seems to break the string or its processing and so it does not get translated in the interface. - A few Spanish terms have quotes escaped as \" The translation displays with the backslash included. I am afraid of removing the escaping backslash since it may break the javascript or whatever. I have tested and we could put Unicode quotes in the translation that do not need the escaping. If there is no objection and will change the translation and commit. · Dr. Angel Herráez Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Dept. of Systems Biology, University of Alcalá E-28871 Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), Spain ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subversion Kills Productivity.
