I don't think this works. Presumably the reason they are identified by two separate HELIX records is because there is a signficant bend. > 2. add a rope from the last CA in cartoon 1 to the first CA in cartoon > 2. I think this is probably the right thing to do. But I don't know how to calculate the diameter of this rope. I suppose another option would be to add something else ... a dotted line or a dotted cylinder. > is there a specific pdb file that shows this problem? 1KYZ.pdb contains the following records HELIX 7 7 ILE A 124 GLN A 132 1 9 HELIX 8 8 ASP A 133 GLU A 138 1 6 HELIX 9 9 SER A 139 TYR A 141 5 3 HELIX 10 10 HIS A 142 GLY A 150 1 9 So these four cylinders are back-to-back Execute this code: wireframe off select :a.ca & (124-150) cartoon center selected zoom 1000 **Note** The current calculation of the cylinder axes is *not* correct. The axis is currently defined by the first alpha carbon and last alpha carbon in the helix. However, that does not affect the nature of this discussion ... what to do about 'adjoining' cylinders.
