As you said ... works OK on Linux.
I made some changes to the way that the screen is repainted.
The buffer is now cleared using a separate thread. That should offer
better performance on multi-cpu systems.
Perhaps that is not working on XP.
Please try the following:
open the file src/org/jmol/g3d/Platform3D.java
Line 45 says:
final static boolean useClearingThread = true;
Change that to false. recompile and see if it works.
You are right, now it's much more reliable on W2000 and XP with Mozilla.
