hi Bob, ok I have upgraded to Safari 1.3 and OS 10.3.9 and everything Jmol is now back to proper behavior :-) your above two pages work fine in Safari, including the rotate x button. FWIW, I could not find any problems with my installation of the JVM under 10.3.8. java -version was ok, and all local implementations of Jmol ran fine, including localhost (apache) sessions. but anything from a server (even my own LAN) bonked in Safari, but only Safari. and it was completely coincident with my OS upgrade to 10.3.8. weird. later, tim -- Timothy Driscoll molvisions - see, grasp, learn. <http://www.molvisions.com/> usa:north carolina:raleigh "Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, 'Where have I gone wrong?'
