That is a shame.

I believe that the 4.01 spec is very clear on this point.

I have never used the validator, so I am not comfortable filing a bug
report. But if David (or someone else) wanted to file a bug then I would
certainly be interested in the results.

Jmol.js has not seen any development for a year ... so documentation would
be quite stable.

I agree that it would be nice to write better doc.

I believe that someone with more applications-level JavaScript and Jmol.js
experience than me would have to take the lead.
