We need to investigate this. My theory is this ... Recent releases of the Jmol.js JavaScript library are enforcing use of the Sun Java Virtual Machine under Windows Internet Explorer. It does this by specifying the ActiveX ObjectID of the Java Plug-in. Normal behavior for Windows Internet Explorer is to pop a dialog box asking about downloading the ActiveX control. Please have someone investigate and see whether or not it makes sense. Some questions: Are the pages using Jmol.js? Is the Sun JVM installed? Are there security settings in place that would block notification and/or download of ActiveX controls?
