I think we need a welcome message for the mailing list reminding users that there is a difference between a public mailing list like this one and personal email. Which to me and many people on the net means that mailers should exercise discipline in keeping mail messages small.

* Restict data files on the list to small samples
* Don't use your mailer's beautiful templates with graphics and HTML formatting, keep'em plain instead * Try to cut down quoting to the parts of a previous email that you're actually responding to.

It would be good if this was sent out to new subscribers.
