I think the documentation for
jmolSetAppletColor
on the website http://jmol.sourceforge.net/jslibrary/
does not match with current Jmol.js
Doc says:
jmolSetColor(bgcolor, {boxfgcolor}, {progresscolor}, {boxbgcolor})
While Jmol.js says
jmolSetAppletColor(boxbgcolor, boxfgcolor, progresscolor)
