This is certainly something I've worried about. What if when you use
set debugscript on
and you are using the applet interface, error messages are also recorded
in the DOCUMENT TITLE at the top of the page? I've been doing this with
some of my pages, and it seems to work well. This, it seems to me fits
the bill, because it is unobtrusive, obviously for the developer
(because debugscript is on), and can't be missed. Because it is a single
line, it only records the particular error you are interested in.
