Jonathan-- here's an idea:

Provide a LOCAL path and SERVER path option on that page. Then the page 
itself can determine if it is on the server not (FILE: or file: as 
protocol instead of http: or HTTP: ) and adjust to suit. We can just add 
that to the JavaScript.
