I havn't tried a Java 1.5.x version yet, but there seems to be a related
problem with all new Java versions that came up since the time 1.6.0_03
came up (1.4 and 1.5 are also still updated). Fortunately the problem
that came up with version 1.4.2_16 on Linux doesn't affect the users
very much but rather the developers.
With earlier Java versions I could easily work with different Jmol
versions in parallel with different instances of our "JenaLib Jmol
Viewer". Since each Jmol version has its own URL on our server there is
no caching problem and I could easily compare different Jmol versions
side by side. But since 1.4.2_16 I get the same access control exception
like with 1.6.0_03 if I try to start a second Jmol version within the
same browser session. Only after restarting the browser I can switch to
a different Jmol version.

So I think Egon's finding actually confirms that this is exactly the
problem here.

Regards,
Rolf
