I'm not seeing a problem. Both 11.5.41 and 11.4.5 are firing a call to

JmolStatusListener.notifyFileLoaded(String fullPathName, String fileName,
                                 String modelName, Object clientFile,
                                 String errorMsg)

when the file is not found, and errorMsg is appropriate.
