Hi Gerard It's being quite a time since the last time this was discussed. I am strongly in favour of having Jmol iniside WP, and think it would be a great advantage for all users. But it's the WP people who need to be pressed. We can certainly open the discussion again.

The only declared hazard, Javascript injection, was fixed last December in the last update of the Jmol MediaWiki Extension and in the Jmol Wiki (and in Proteopedia last week). I don't think so, but I cannot say for sure (but I'm no expert in security) if, apart from that, the fact that there is javascript involved poses any risk; of course the WP pages use javascript for their diverse functionalty. All that javascript comes from the server, the users cannot insert javascript. Anther concern was the specification for inserting JmolApplets in the wiki pages, not so simple as for example images. Some people thought it should be so simple, but I don't quite agree; having flexibility in the way the model wiol be shown and interacted with is essential in my opinion for a successful use of Jmol. > Would it be possible to create a progess where the JMOL data and have > it validated in some way.. I agree. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Register Now for Creativity and Technology (CaT), June 3rd, NYC.
