Bob, I just happened to be awake last night and was trying to help out Vincent. There is probably something to be said for not trying to write a coherent email while sleep deprived.
I have my integration working fine with 11.8. When I first started trying to incorporate jmol in a java app I could not get the popup working with simpleViewer but since JmolViewer.allocateViewer did the trick and gave me the callback's I needed I did not explore the problem with popup menu and simple viewer.
