Ideally, the format associated with each label when it was created should be
retained. I might have some labels that I have created with %a, some %n, 
some "%5[group] %7[resno]" etc; and I would like each of those labels to
reappear as it was initially after toggling visibility or position.

If that's quite impossible, I would settle for being able to force the
default label format to be something other than %[identify] .

The position of the label is offset from the position to which it was
manually shifted (i.e. a different location from the original one, and a
different location from the desired one!).
