Dear Bob,

The features for visualizing EDM's in Jmol 11.9.19 look FABULOUS if only I had
a map file that Jmol could read. We have spent considerable time here at
Weizmann trying to generate maps in XPLOR format without success. It appears to
me that Jmol 11.9.19 cannot read any of the 4 formats offered by the Uppsala
EDM server
http://eds.bmc.uu.se/eds/
which include O, CNS, and EZD (I tried those three with
isosurface "mapfilename"
and nothing is displayed).

Uppsala also creates ccp4 (which we can also generate in the ccp4 software
suite) but as I documented recently, with snapshots and a downloadable small
ccp4 map file, at

http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg13588.html

the ccp4 maps display "squashed" and in an incorrect position relative to the
PDB file (also in 11.9.19). So we are hoping you can address the problems with
displaying ccp4 maps in Jmol sometime soon. We are very excited about the
potential of this capability!

Being able to display maps generated by the Uppsala server will be enable
non-crystallographers to examine maps easily in Jmol.

Regards, -Eric
