Bob, I think there is a problem with delete itself, but that may be what you're saying with your response. Two experiments to see the delete issue that I've noticed with some alcohols:
Experiment One: 1) Using methane via modelkitmode New, make methanol. 2) Using modelkitmode Delete Atom, delete alcohol H. A-OK Experiment Two: 1) Using methane via modelkitmode New, make methanol. 2) Using modelkitmode Minimize, minimize this methanol. 3) Using modelkitmode Delete Atom, delete alcohol H. H and O are both deleted. Indeed, when you measure H-O in Experiment One, it's 1.1 Angstroms. When you measure it in Experiment 2, it's 0.99 Angstroms. The problem appears to be delete itself, is that what you were indicating: On 6/16/2010 8:52 AM, Robert Hanson wrote: > got it. replacing atoms with H was first deleting atoms within 1 > Angstrom -- including the atom that connected it! > Otis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
