Make that first sentence fragment, "The javascript call from the load script works when the timeout is NOT used, but I had another piece of code that hid this fact:"

Also, while looking at this on page load init, I found a JavaScript function that runs Jmol script. I moved it to the applet load javascript init. I'm hoping that fixes the original problem.

This was squirreled away in a page onload init function. Without the timeout Jmol beat the page on load to the punch. The above code is a page testing remnant that I never removed.

Another timeout bites the dust! I'm hoping I can complete the removal of these darn things before I go to bed tonight.
