Are you sure you are using

jmolInitialize(path,jarfile)

and that second parameter is either not there or "JmolApplet0.jar" or
"JmolAppletSigned0.jar"? If it is JmolApplet.jar or JmolAppletSigned.jar,
that will load slowly.
