Dear Jmol users,

I have had a problem with the menu mouse interactions with Jmol started
as a standalone java application under linux, over many versions on
linux and of Java. (Currently Sun Java 1.6.0.26). This occurs under all
versions of Mandriva linux as well as Mageia 1.

Briefly, invoking the main menu from a right-mouse click, puts the
model into a "rotation" mode, so any subsequent mouse movement rotates
the model. In detail

1. click and release right mouse button

    a. pop-up menu appears
    b. The cursor changes from an arrow to an arrowed cross.

2. move mouse so it is not over menu

The model rotates, following the mouse action.

3. Select and click to act on any menu item, releasing
    button.

    a. The menu is dismissed

    b. Arrowed-cross cursor remains

    c. Model still rotates following mouse action.

4. Left-click mouse button

    a. Cursor changes back to arrow
    b. Mouse motion does not rotate model

In consequence it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to use any main menu action while
keeping the model in the same orientation.

Do other linux users see this behaviour, or is is something specific to
my setup?
