I don't observe this with Jmol 12.2.2 on OpenSuse 11.4 with Sun Java
1.6.0_26 and Firefox 7.0. (preliminary!)

But after I wrote this I wanted to confirm this also for Jmol 11.6.8
(which we are using productively). There was no problem. But after I
went back to 12.2.2 the problem Keith described also occured on my
system, but slightly different.

Before I describe the details I should explain my monitor setup (because
it is involved in the difference between my Jmol 12.2.2 uses): two
monitors defined as single 2560x1024 pixel screen without any multiple
monitor virtual desptop support enabled within KDE) and the browser
window was placed totally on the right monitor.

Details:
1) The popup menu appeared on the left monitor outside the browser
window (ending at the right border) and no unwanted rotation occured.

2) The popup menu appeared on the right monitor inside the applet and
unwanted rotation occured. But compared to Keith description the mouse
cursor only changes to the arrowed cross outside the menu, not while the
mouse cursor is within the menu.

3) After moving the browser window to the left monitor it was similar to
1): the popup menu appeared on the right monitor outside the browser
window (starting at the left border) and no unwanted rotation occured.

4) Moving the browser back to the right monitor restored behaviour of
case 2.

Doing the same with Jmol 11.6.8 didn't result in any unwanted rotation.
On the right monitor the popup menu appeared within the applet. On the
left monitor the popup menu appeared on the right monitor.

Rolf
