Hi Jmol-ers,
I have generated a number of Jmol views with select sidechains shown in
wireframe and the rest of the protein in cartoon form. It is requested that
they connect back to the Calpha or the cartoon via a stick so they are
projecting out from the backbone but not showing wireframe for other parts of
the backbone. If that description is hard to follow, what I am looking to do is
generate something similar to the equivalent of cartoon_side_chain_helper in
Pymol(see http://www.pymolwiki.org/index.php/Cartoon_side_chain_helper where
there are images). Importantly, the color of the sidechains is not meant to
affect the color of the cartoon representation. Is there an easy command to
apply or do I need to generate a bond for each? And then I can use 'color
cartoon' to make sure the cartoon doesn't pick up the wireframe's applied color.
I thought I remembered this being covered in the past on the list; I tried
searching but my terminology didn't produce much helpful.

Thanks,
Wayne
