Thanks, Angel and Bob. Those commands covered it.

Hello Wayne

Yes, I know what you want.
Without testing, a couple of hints:

1. This may be (or I may be wrong) what Eric Martz called "vines"
style in Protein Explorer

2. Basically, the way to do it is
set bondMode or;
select sidechain;
wireframe 0.3;
select all;
trace on; // or maybe cartoon on

Try that and if you hit a hard wall I will try to specify more

Wayne and Angel,

There's one more setting -- sheetSmoothing.

The three settings you need are

set bondModeOr TRUE   # default is FALSE
set traceAlpha TRUE      # default is TRUE
set sheetSmoothing 0     # default is 1.0

You can use this for any rendering option.
If you use backbone, you don't need to set sheetSmoothing or traceAlpha,
just bondModeOr.

Also --

set bondModeOr true

is the same as

set bondMode OR

it's just that you  can check the setting of bondModeOr, and you can't
check the setting of bondMode:

if (bondModeOr) {.....}
