Hello Ted I'm happy to have helped and that you understood what was going on --and explained it so well.
It looks clear and of course correct. I had never realised about sending the "link" to the server. And I've alwasy worked with loading existing files, not inline models. Apart from all, I think that what you want may well be there if you change to using the signed applet. Have you tried that? It has a File > Save submenu in the popup menu. I have no idea what it will do woth modified models and inline models. And please feel free to add your explanations to the Wiki if you think they will help.
