Glad to know, Nick. Thanks for reporting back on this. I'm not surprised to hear that canvas performance suffers from big amounts of drawing. In fact, one of the issues for me is -for the case of proteins- how responsive the HTML5 JSmol variant will be. Not bad in a computer (but worse than Java), but questionable on tablets and hardly manageable on phones. Small molecules are fine.
