Jmol Users, The Jmol user manual either gives incorrect information concerning XML file types, or XML handling is broken.
Trying to force the following type strings results in "unrecognized file format type" : VASP, XmlVasp, QuantumEspresso, XmlQE, MOLPRO(XML), XmlMolpro, Odyssey(XML), XmlOdyssey, along with every other supposedly supported XML format listed in, http://chemapps.stolaf.edu/jmol/docs/index.htm?command=load&ver=14.0.13. Auto-detection of some XML types works, as verified by creating empty files with matching headers. Even stranger, the auto-detection returns a type as XmlVasp or XmlCml or XmlQE, but attempting to force these types fails with "unrecognized". This is with Jmol 14.0.13. As a related aside, has anyone successfully read XML outputs from QE (data-file.xml)? The QE stdout is readable and auto-detected, but the "espresso" file type can also be specified.
