OK. I have found the source of my issue, but not the solution yet. Please note the jsmol>jsmetest2 file in the distribution. If you edit the file to expand the width to 400, you see the FG button. But if you try to use this applet, none of the vertical buttons work, nor does the FG. Since I was using that as my coding pattern, I reproduced the problem. Now to look at it in more detail tomorrow.
