Hello,
I am interested in setting up interactive animations of chemical reactions on a
website. I have the cartesian coordinates from an IRC calculation, stored in
an xyz text file, and I have already set up the animation in JSmol. I have seen
that JSmol allows the user to rotate, pause, and measure bond lengths, angles,
etc. interactively and I would like to keep these abilities.
There are two other abilities I'm looking for:
1. I would also like to display background text in the corner, indicating the
frame number, so that when the user pauses the animation, it is apparent what
frame is being displayed. It's also OK if this information is displayed in a
text box next to the display box. I also want to display other information on
the side that depends on frame number, such as the cartesian coordinates for
that frame. It's OK if the text is only updated when the animation is paused.
2. If possible, I want to include a slider, which I can click and drag to
choose the frame displayed.
Are these functionalities supported in JSmol? If not, would I be able to
include them simply? I have some coding/scripting experience, but not with
JavaScript.
Thanks,
Thomas Sexton
