That sounds a very good idea, Bob. It would need to be compatible with using other qualifiers, "load append" at least. Yes, my files have the .gz in their name in one case. In the other, I am using a .pdbz extension that I have added to the list of binary extensions. The files load fine in Firefox (always), and in Chrome (most of the times).
